Go First Official Website
Go First, previously known as GoAir, has been facing significant operational and financial difficulties since 2023. The airline suspended its operations after filing for bankruptcy in May 2023 due to supply chain issues with its engine provider, Pratt & Whitney, which impacted its fleet of Airbus A320neo aircraft. Following this, many of its leased planes were repossessed, and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) deregistered its entire fleet by May 2024.
The airline has been attempting to restructure through India’s insolvency resolution process, with potential investors expressing interest. In February 2024, a 60-day extension for the resolution process was granted, and investors such as Ajay Singh, the Chairman of SpiceJet, and Nishant Pitti of EaseMyTrip have submitted bids to revive the airline.
At the moment, Go First’s Dhaka office does not appear to be operational, given the airlines suspended flights and insolvency status (Wikipedia).
